A pretty straight forward solution from me this month. Looking at the lyrics there is real redemptive theme going on. Using this months limitation of no drawing it was a case of finding images to bring the song to life and trying to then get a sweet composition (bit trickier than I'd imagined in both respects). Some of the images are directly referenced in the lyrics and others just seemed to fit/felt right. I also wanted to use a more limited colour palette as I felt it would help bind the sourced elements together.

Nice one! I really love the texture and feel of this collage, you were right to limit the colour pallette, and the moire/halftone effect looks very cool.
I'd say that the placement of certain parts looks a bit odd (grapes and cross particularly) and the perspective isn't right, but I don't think it needs to be particularly with a piece like this.
The feel is quite apocalyptic, and I like it. My favourite part is the trumpet fella.
Just waiting for the Greeks now!
Very niiiice. Like the photocopier effect...
As regards Owen's point... Perspective and collage? You'll be lucky! Perhaps a rougher edge, mocking a scalpel cut and some drop shadow action would help move it into the "unreal"... although the woman in the sky is probably the give away!
Na, I wouldn't worry about it. An interesting and emotive illustration. I like it a lot as it is.
Thanks chaps. I'm really happy with this one. Think it's up there with Charlie as my own personal favourites.
Interesting feedback, didn't use the photocopier effect once (or even at all). But used many other effects to achieve a similar finish.
About half way through this one I started thinking of the adverts you used to get by I think Virgin? These were everyday scenes where they filled the picture with album titles/band references. Or sure they did a number with film references as well. In fact think Stella did something along the same lines as well.
Anyways I started using some elements in this fashion as references to the lyrics (ie. grapes etc.). Yes the perspective isn't perfect with them but it was a decision I was willing to roll with.
Wonder what's up for next month?
Ps. Owen hope it was a grand holiday?
Collage is great for those "Stella ad""Can you spot them all" kind of images.
I remember spending a good couple of days online with my mates trying to figure out all those band names...
