Untitled – Reeko

So, here's how the train of thought went.

Untitled. So he doesn't have a title. Who doesn't have a title? Do I have a title? Yes, I'm a "Mr". You have to be outside society to have no title. Who is outside society... A homeless person perhaps...

I tried to convey some of the bleakness of the song in the image. Oh, and the reflections in the pavement were a real experiment and I'm still not sure they quite work. Ah well, onwards and upwards!

Have a great month.

OH MAAAANNN this is so good! Dude you're moving into a place where we can't follow with this new style you're developing. I'm such a fan!

I love the perspective. I love the dude's beard and blanket. I love the way his fingers curl round the edge of his sign. I love the dark and light contrast. I love the lashing rain.

Are the dark wispy lines in the sky cloud outlines? If so, not sure they are necessary. However, they add something to the scene, like feathers or dust blowing around in the wind or something! Fun.

Anyway, top marks fella.

Thanks man!

Not to blow smoke up my own *ss but I do feel like I've made a big step forward lately.

Interesting point about the clouds. Hmm. Outlining the shapes is what I've done forever. Will definitely re-evaluate why I'm doing that.

The man has done it again, another stormer. I would like to concur with Mr. Jones and say of late you have been on fire.

I think in some ways you get it most tough Mr Reeko as illustration is what you do. We also get to see the other works you've been doing and so probably measure your IST entries alongside those (which by the by – LOVING the guy in space one).

Very much looking forward to seeing the book that has all the landscape formatted illustrations in.

But back to this month, great palette, nicely thought of way of tackling the title and a perspective that really brings it to life. Sweet!

Ps. I spy tartan, hope that's more stereotype than racialist! Haha.

Ta muchly!

I actually think I have it easiest as I have a existing process and a style to work with, certainly recently as I've been less experimental here. I think that has led to a better result. Although, obviously, I want to keep playing around and pushing myself...

The tartan is based on direct reference rather than any *deliberate* slur! I have Scottish heritage so I would be shooting myself in the foot there a little...:)
