April 2009 - New Song

Hiya. I'm hoping I might scrape together something for March this week, apologies for the delay.

In the mean time, the new song for April is:

Like A Stone by Audioslave.

If you have time that is...!

Ah Audioslave - interesting. My memory of them is seeing them at T in the Park and the two most memorable parts of their sets were based on their former bands. Chris Cornell tried to lead the crowd in a solo acoustic Black Hole Sun. Which was probably 5-10 years to old for the gathered crowd (Main Stage always gathers the young un's and musically tourists - without trying to sound like a musical snob). It bombed…

On leaving the stage the other members returned to do an instrumental Bulls On Parade before CC rejoined them for a finale of Sleep Now In The Fire and Killing In The Name Of. These sent the crowd proper mental.

Was even better to see Rage Against The Machine headlining last year. Happy days!

Yeah interesting title, need to have a think.

I had a very similar experience with them in Dublin of all places. They did cover "seven nation army", of White Stripes fame, which was absolutely blinding...

Seeing Rage at Reading last year was truly incredible. "Incendiary" doesn't even begin to describe it. I'd seen them as a teenager on "the battle of Los Angeles" tour and had always wondered if my youth had affected how good they were.

Nope. They were better.

Seem to remember there's some choice sketchy Cornell couplets in this song! Going to go check the lyrics....

I'm tempted to do another Argyle related entry for this one...

Although, we could yet be saved if the FA do the logical thing and dock Southampton 10 points for CHEATING!

Probably won't though...
